583 NJROTC Units and 31 NNDCC Units as of January 2017.

88,719 students in NJROTC & NNDCC programs, School Year 17/18.

61% of graduates continue to post-secondary education (including ROTC programs and military academies).

47% of program graduates intend to enter military service.

61% of students are ethnically diverse, 39% are female, 26% are African American, 27% are Hispanic.

NJROTC instructors are retired or eligible reserve or medically disabled Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard officer and enlisted personnel. Instructors are school employees. Salaries are determined by the rank of the instructor and equal at least the difference between retirement and active duty base pay and allowances. Half of that amount is reimbursed to the school by the Navy.
